What do you guys think of the amp? I was considering getting one to power my Brahma 12 Im about to order. I planned on running it at 4ohms in a 1.5cu ft box but the Re website lists the 4ohm power as 35w, this must be a mistake. Does anyone know the true output at 4ohms?

it lists 35w because in competition, amp power is added up at 4 ohm output at 14.4v. this sneaks you into lower classes with tons of power.

im sure its already considered a cheater amp so u won't get into lower classes.

But I really only need about 500w cause with the 1.5cu ft box Im putting it in, I wont need that much power to drive it to its full Xmax. 1000+ watts would just be crazy loud.

Oh yeah, i remember the discussion on this. So it's probably just the cheaper out of the two then? Do you think one of those would be better the the nine.1?

you get into a lowe class cheater amp or not. a buddy of mine ran in the 0-100 watt class with a kicker xs-100 that is rated at 100rms@4ohm but does closer to 1100 watts so you still get into lower classe's with cheater amps. anyway the 9.1 and 35-1 D are both very solid sturdy amps. i would say only dif. is if you think you might stack em one day i don't think the Re amp is stackable.

The RE sales guy told me 369 shipped to my house, and this is the email I got today reguarding the power output at 4ohms:

The amp may produce more than 35 watts at 4ohm. We rate it at 35 watts however.

Subject: Power rating or RE35-1D

Your webiste lists the Re35-1D's power output at 4ohms to be 35w, is this true or just a typo? If so what is the true output at 4ohms for the amp?

Thanks,

Justin

in one simple word....NO:nono:. even if you got 2 dual 2ohm K's and ran them a 2ohm mono and gave them only 575 a piece that would still be too much for them unless you know what your doin. not to mention that amp is really underrated i've heard by a respectable source that they are almost always benched around 1700+@1ohm so it wouldnt surprise me to see it put out closer to 1300ish@2ohm and that's too much for a pair of 12" k's unless you are VERY careful and wise. oh and i'm not saying you aren't i'm just saying that's the thing you can feed the subs 600rms if your careful not just hook it up and be like oh i heard it'll be fine.

Giving subs more power really wakes them up. The MRP-500 is pretty low power. You would really notice more authority in your bass.

I’m sure they will be a good budget setup. I think they will lack some midbass but door treatment is super important so definitely be sure to do...
