Opinions on PE Buyout Soundstream

Anyone ever used one of these?

The efficiency of the sub is attractive (even if rated at 2 watts) along with the price for budget systems.

Thoughts? Perhaps a comparable woofer elsewhere?

Efficiency might be pretty good, but displacement is abysmal. I dont see anything particularly appealing about that driver.

If they are anything like the original version of the SPL subs, their drawing point is that they sound really good.

SPL sensitivity ratings really don't mean a thing for a sub and tend to be a bit of a counterindication for low frequency extension.

PG RSDs can be had for around that price and I've heard nothing but good things about those woofers.

It would be a fairly good candidate for a small lower power vented enclosure. Inductance is pretty low at 1.2mH, so it should have pretty decent high frequency extension.

Definitely not what I'd call a "high output" driver, I'd say 250-300w is all this driver would ever need.

As was already said, not really anything overly impressive about it, but I guess you could get one to be different.

if they were cheaper i'd buy them up, they were my first subs back in the day i loved them, but thats like 7 years ago, so they dont really math up to subs of today

Ah yes, the Exacts. I remember when those and the Alchemies were THE subs to own (like the XXX vs W7 debates today). Yeah, those were some nice (older) drivers. I saw they were selling them again new a while back, did they stop?

Yeah, Alchemy vs Exact was about 10 years ago (dating myself here). LOL
