opinions on my setup

i'm in the market for a new system for my car. don't know too much about all the technical stuff so feel free to criticize or recommend parts for me.

front and rear - jbl gx602 (already been purchased)

1x subwoofer - jl audio 12w3v3-2 (any recommended enclosures that would work well?)

amplifier - pioneer gm-d9605 (powering all 4 speakers and sub)

head unit - jvc kd-r330 (currently installed, but prefer to upgrade)

appreciate any input.

going to be installed in my 3rd generation integra. mainly looking for strong bass, but still want good sound quality. mostly listen to edm. as for wiring i have what was hooked up by the previous owner. currently have a 10'' jbl sub (not sure which model exactly) and a kac-1502s amp. doesn't hit very hard at all.

so far i've only purchased the front and rear speakers, and that's the only thing that's staying. i'm on a budget, not trying to go over $300 for a sub, or over $400 for the amp.

Enclosure: Hit up @CSCStang and have him build one tuned to 38hz
Sub: soundqubed HDC312 or HDC310 $280, more of an SPL woofer but good enough SQ for that strong EDM bass
Amp: ideally you'd want a 2k amp to have some headroom, but a 1500 would probably be fine. Look into something used to get more bang for your buck
HU: @MrFoca has the grail of HU's for sale
Wiring: you'll most likely want to use some new wire if youre going to push that kind of power, 1/0. @mylows10 can hook you up with that, amongst other things

JL recommends that power handling for their subs for a reason....if you go beyond that, depending upon how much, it's not gonna hurt it. But can blow it if not careful and with a clean signal. hell people put 2x rated power on non mainstream branded subs all the time!!

I'd try a yardsale sub from sundown....save ya some $$. Perhaps a 5 ch amp that will power everything with built-in x-overs.

thanks for all the feedback. if i was to get the 12w3v3-2 would the amp i selected be fine? to my knowledge youre supposed to try and match the rms of the sub with the amp. according to this link (12W3v3-2 - Car Audio - Subwoofer Drivers - W3v3 - JL Audio) 300w rms is optimal for the sub, while 500+ voids the warranty.
Only jl subs i'd use would be the W6 or w7 and i'd buy them used. They arent worth retail. Can get a W7 for 300 on craigslist easily. JL woofers are rated to match their JL Slash/HD series amps(with regulated internal power supply technology) which put out rated power regardless of impedance/box rise. (READ MORE ABOUT BOX RISE) With a normal 300 watt amp, you are actually looking at less than 50 watts of actual power going to your subs because of box rise.

As for that amp. Heck no, not even close to good enough power to tickle any decent sub. I bet you if you had real power going to your JBL sub and a properly designed custom ported box, your mind will be blown. There's a proper way of doing things and there's the nooby way. You can waste unecessary amounts of money and achieve so so or rather disappointing results or use the same money or less and get absolutely amazing chest pounding, lung crushing, vision blurring, windshield flexing and great sounding bass. Your choice.

I mainly listen to EDM and the soundqubed HDC3s perform marvelously for that purpose and price bracket. Basically getting double the woofer weighing in at 45lbs vs the W3 at less than 20 lbs.
