Nothing in this thread stands out as "SQ".

With that kind of a budget, I suggest a lot of research. Don't want to dump a lot of money into something you'll only enjoy for a few weeks.

Exactly. He is asking for SQ suggestions but want louder then the Treo on 1200. I dont think he will be very happy with a real SQ build.

In many cases, people say "SQ" meaning minimal distortion and clarity; not necessarily meaning RTA-flat, true reproduction of the recording.

Personally, I enjoy music with some atmosphere to it. Though, if you want to win esque competitions, you have to go by the book.

When somebody says they have 8K for a SQ build I think pin point sound reproduction. Sealing off every panel and using top notch equipment.

Louder then a single 12 is a totally different goal and much easier and CHEAPER!

Ok right now I have Alpine type s comps in the front and Alpine type s 6x9 in rear deck i want something with a little better sq than that but i want my bass louder than what i have right now while still able to hear the front stage.
