Opinions on Infinity Perfects needed

Thinking about getting a couple Infinity Perfect 10's and powering them with either a JL 500/5 or Memphis Belle. Not into 'thump' music or rap or whatever you wanna call it. I listen to jazz, rock, instrumental. I want to be able to feel a decent kick listening to Heart or Halen, Leppard and get good sounding bass guitar licks to boot. Looking for a very musical sub that won't flop and I like the looks of these subs and the stats on em. I want it clean for jazz and NOT boomy. Also,am considering a open air, rear deck mount in the trunk. I've read they can be used open air but it reduces their power by half. I don't want to lose trunk space with a large box.

a pair of perfect 10"s should not take up much space at all if you put them in a sealed enclosure. I'd recommend .75 each woofer. Should make the bass a little deeper and tighter. 1.5 cubic foot total really isn't that much at all.

Agreed, on both accounts. 1.5 cu ft box is quite small, and the Perfects have excellent SQ. I would suggest you get a very decent pair of component speakers for your front stage for the type of music you listen to as well.

Mark,I auditioned a set of Infinity 605's 6 1/2 components recently . They sounded pretty nice. I was also considering the Perfects components. What are your opinons?

Perf 10"s are incredible SQ subs.

i dont know if i'd spend the money on them if i didnt wanna 'boomy' system..

they hit hard as well. if u have the money to spend, i would go w/ the perf.10"s.....

if not, look for a cheaper sub that has SQ...

but yes, they are very nice subs

BTW: do not use them free air. it recommends not to, i had one before.

the 10" and 12" perfect kappa's are not meant for free air usage..

you may not want a box, but these subs only require .60 CubicFt. each...

i dont think it would be worth it to use free air, not a good decision.

With a half respectable EQ to bring the brightness of the tweets down, they are excellent components. If you have the money, definately go for it.

Hey, i just got 2 of the perfect 12's. I have them in a nice big ported box, but they still sound NICE. For the price i payed, very cheap, even thought they were in someone elses truck, they still sound beautiful, and a very nice first system. Id suggest getting these subs, ive heard they both ported and sealed, and they sound nice both ways.
