Opinions on Diamond Hex S600A component set??

Do we know whether or not the OP is opposed to buying used?
If there isn't a requirement of being new gear then that opens the possibilities up considerably. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I realize that.. I was just iterating. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Thanks for the responses, fellas! I'd consider buying used if I knew that the set wasn't ragged too bad by the previous owner running 200-300W a side through them.

I usually ask a seller--

1. How were they amp'd/how much power was running through them?

2. What kind of music styles were primarily listed to through the speakers?

I've also been considering a set of the Polk Audio MMC6500 6 1/2" components, also. I've had a chance to listen to them, and I like the sound of the tweeter, and the midbass was decent, even if it was in a soundboard in a car audio shop.

How would you guys compare the HEX's to the MMC6500's in overall sound quality?

i just had a set of hex's in the for sale section for over a week only asking 200 + shipping and they are brand new in the box lol... truth is that these can be found dirt cheap...

I did a direct swap from my Hexes to my CMX's and compared to the Rainbows the Diamonds are lacking midbass. I don't know what some of you guys did to get midbass but for the money I still believe there are much better sets. Another thing that I thought was pretty poor is the fact that the chrome and the set screws on them rusted. No my doors do not leak the car was brand new when I put the hexes in. I am not calling anyone out just stating my actual experience with them.

Well that's the real differences... eBay vs internet vs authorized dealer...
Diamond HEX off eBay = arout $300 shipped

Diamond HEX from internet retailer = arout $400 shipped

Germaniums from authorized dealer (PremierAudio or 6spcoupe) = arout $450 shipped.
$450 for Germs? Try $600. Maybe 6spcoupe has them for that amount. I bought one new, one used set of HEXes for $250 over a year and a half ago on eBay. They do lack midbass. My install needs sound deadening, but they have zero midbass now. Silk tweeters are superb though. I listened to some Polk MMC's in Fry's after hearing alot about them and they were extremely bright.
Hear the Germ's are great, but for the price, either a lower line or lesser brand makes more sense.
