Opinions on Diamond Hex S600A component set??

I have herd them, and I was not impressed with them at all, the aluminum tweeter is very harsh, there isn't much Mid bass, and for the price there are much better out there, Such as CDT Focal Rainbow.

I used that set for almost a year. I was not impressed. Like previously stated harsh and lacking midbass. I also had one of the midbass drivers start making a scratching noise. That was my second Diamond comp set and I was unimpressed with both of them. I switched to the Rainbow CMX and they are a better all around set.

i personally love them. I have ran 3 sets of them over the alst few years. They dont lack midbass at all unless you dont isntall them correctly. The tweets arent as "harsh" as few people say. They are a awesome sounding speaker.... Anyone who says they arent good either is going off what someone else said or if they have ahd them they didnt install them correctly and any speaker would of sounded like crap with their install. Set your settings correctly and you will be hard pressed to find a comp set that can come close to the quality of these speakers.

I ran the Diamonds in my comp car and never had any problems. I thought they sounded great once adjusted correctly. You can get them cheap on ebay. If you are whiling to spend more go with Rainbow. I will be running the Diamond in my wifes comp car. The alum tweet is bright but is easy to tame with some good EQ. It has good clarity but bested used in the kicks. If you have a good eq you can run them in the sails or a-pillars but they need some work to get them to sound not to bright.

so ummm where can you get a set of germs for around the price you pay for some hex's ? i know i spent $250 more on my germs then what the hex's go for on ebay...
Well that's the real differences... eBay vs internet vs authorized dealer...

Diamond HEX off eBay = arout $300 shipped

Diamond HEX from internet retailer = arout $400 shipped

Germaniums from authorized dealer (PremierAudio or 6spcoupe) = arout $450 shipped.

I'm going to have to agree with the respondants who have stated that the Hexes are not lacking in midbass unless they are in an inadequate install.

I have heard more than a few sets in proper installations and IMO they sound pretty freggin' good. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The aluminum tweeter is a bit harsh for some people's tastes and the silk tweet option is a bit smoother but that choice ends up boiling down to personal preference more than anything.

The last set in that list - used set for under $200/shipped was a nice buy. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
Oh, I agree... it's a great deal. But now we're talking used vs new.

Do we know whether or not the OP is opposed to buying used?

If there isn't a requirement of being new gear then that opens the possibilities up considerably. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
