Opinions on Bridged Amps

I'm on a budget and found these two amps a Directed d2400 & PA 2400d, I don't know which too choose, Which ever amp I choose I'm going to buy 2 and strap them, which one would be a better overall quality amp?

Between the two, I'd go with DEI.

I've used Directed. Nice amps, nice powerful bass. Just don't go below the amp's rated ohms!

Why is the title of this thread opinions on "bridged" amps since the discussion is about monoblocks??

Personally I would go with neither of the posted options. Hit up HCCAfan for a HCCA D5000 or whatever that model number is on the current one.

What's the difference? Bridged amps having separate channels perhaps? Perhaps by saying "bridged" he really meant monoblock, but like me, didn't know of the proper term.

Which is why it would've helped if you explained it.

"Bridging" normally implies taking two channels on the same amp and combining them into a single, mono output.

My amp is indeed a monoblock then, being that it has +- -+ terminals for two subwoofers (or one DVC sub), but no bridged mode. Hooking up two speakers just combines them in parallel, essentially splitting the resistance (ohms) in half.
