Opinions on bass knobs and do you use one?

I have a question. My AB 4480 doesn't have a Clipping light on the Bass knob... Can I buy one that does and replace it? As long as the connection is the same?

Hmm. Im not so certain about that.May have to ask Jim/@mylows10.. I doubt it though. Ive never had to use a clipping light/meter.Ive always set my gains/towards my maxed volume on HU towards distortion and backed off till clean,and left there,by ear..Ive never had a real issue with any of my subs in almost 20 yrs.without a DMM

Started looking around and noticed all the Bass Knobs with Clipping lights had modular connectors and the one without the light just had Stereo jack.

Our 4480 cannot use a clip light, but you could always purchase a dd-1 and connect it for permanent use.

Clip indicators only detect amp voltage clip, they do not detect headunit/source clip.

So a dd-1 or o-scope would be the best clip indicator

If you really need one so bad on a amp that has no possibility of having one then google project 57 or others alike.

It is a do it yourself clip indicator for any electronic device including sub amps.

Yes, use one and couldn't imagine not having one. I listen to too many genre's of music to not have one.
