Opinions from someone who knows cars?

a chip upgrade adds lk 50ftlbs and 35hp or more to the 1.8Ts (275ftlbs with a K04 turbo kit which is lk $1200 with chip n everything) and I know the Diesel is just as moddable (350ftlbs is common)

Looking to trade my truck for it - say 16 grand or less, thereabouts

The 1.8t Jetta only gets like 24 to a gallon - but I must say I was impressed by the performance and handling of it.

I understand that moddign a car will generally kill gas mileage, but I'd rather get a car that gets 45 to a gallon and hurt it down to 39-40 to a gallon and make it fast, ya know?

If I can get a Diesel Jetta to 0-60 in the 5's and run a quarter in the 13-14 range, I'd be happy, hell maybe even 15 I just need it to be somewhat quick, a reliable car, and for it not to look horrible

this thread sucks

eugenics, shut up, there is a 2.0T, you don't know WTF you're talking about...hell you don't even know what i/h/e is..

perhaps you're the one that needs to shut the **** up

yes there is a 2.0T, but is it in his price range? no, because its in the newer models

the na 8v 2.0 is worthless

and your ignorance is shown by saying that i dont know what intake/headers/and exhaust is...

your friends are the ones that you should be worried about, they should just leave shit alone if they can't do it right or find someone who can, like i did. my was very reliable turbo'd, because the guy that tuned it knew what he was doing

I would buy another Mark 8 in a second- but I have no use for that kind of a vehicle anymore.

My advice is, get a Mark VIII. Put some decent rims and tires on it. Then find a mustang tuner to hook you up with a 6 speed ******, and a nice, built racing engine- nothing super fancy. If you play your cards right, you will probably have money left to spend on a system.

I had one of these and got 200k out of it. one similar to mine dynoed at 302 hp at 5600rpm with straight pipes from the cats and a drilled airbox.

isn't that the same dohc engine in the mach one? if so you can just build the shit out of that

get a turbo diesel jetta.

mods - exhaust, intake, chip the normal stuff. Then for the fun stuff just fabricate up a custom propane injection system, easily gain a bunch of horsepower/torque while making the vehicle more efficient on fuel.
