Opening Car Audio Shop in Orlando

soundstream is sold by ebay and many online retailers, and also lesco distributors(who distributes to dealers of them only with mtx, PA, Kole, Soundstream, and many other cheaper brands)...so might be a hassle keeping prices lower than those online retailers.

Lower yes, but comparable with a warranty would be a plus. The profit margin is still good.
this and people like store fronts a place they can come back to and ***** if needed.. its a safer feeling.. if the price is comparable I will go buy from a store the day i want it and not wait and if i have problems not have to deal with waiting on emails phone calls etc..

like cj said.. orlando is pretty packed with audio places.. I am really surprised there is not one near me.. the closest is 13 miles.. hear people talking about going to best buy for audio and I laugh.. if there was a kick *** hometheather/car audio store around here they would do bank.. Near some rich *** neighborhoods westchase/waterchase/the eagles etc etc

even time and sound and sound advice are going under...tells you how well orlando is packed with audio shops...none do custom paint and body work tho...
sound advice is gone i thought? atleast from here.. But I thought they went out of business all together.. but anyways ya.. now is not the time for people to be buying car audio and stuff.. You will have the few diehards that will and then most of your customers will be people who are replacing blown stuff with the cheapest you have.. I.e stock speakers blow they will pick up some sony/pyle etc speakers...

A tip I would say is to go walk into audio stores.. see how they are doing.. Are there a lot of people in there? any buying anything? hell I went to a store to pick up some reducers I was the only one in there.. and the workers weren't even out front so I had to sit and wait when all i wanted was some reducers

thats why i suggested a flea market setup to get the name out there...but he insists he'll get mad business cuz its a busy intersection.
funny thing is, is that I avoid busy intersections lmao.. If I will go to the least busy lol...

oh well.. you better have a nice reserve because even if you get off better then expected the first 6months-year is going to be hard..especially in orlando where there are established businesses..

i live off hiawassee //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif i wouldnt mind coming by and buying some interconnects when i need them. i saw for sale on craigslist a large car audio display wall for cheap about a week ago.....

good luck. in todays economy it will be tough.
x2. Its going to be hard to sell stuff today. I know alot of people who own shops that had to close down because they were so dead. I would keep some product, but focus on installing. Definately do alarms, audio wiring, navigation/bluetooth, ipod integration, etc.

As everyone said, stock cheap stuff. Do pacake deals... Like 2 12s box and amp for $300. Just buy low end stuff and buy the cheap prefabs. You can get a prefab at wholesale for $12, an entry level 12" sub for $20, and a low end amp for $75.

for me the pawn business pays the bills. so if i don't sell car audio, its not going to put me out of business. with car audio shop if you don't sell car audio, you don't pay the bills.
