One new L7, one used L7...

Alright, I have one brand new out of the box '05 L7 and one used '05 L7. They're in a 6 cubic feet ported enclosure tuned @ 32hz. I haven't fine tuned the amp and HU settings, but the setup sounds horrible right now. It sounds very muddy and almost like the subs are out of phase. I checked the wiring just to be sure I didn't have the polarities reversed, but the wiring is fine. When messing around with them, I noticed the new sub is much tighter than the old sub. I'd heard that L7s were very stiff out of the box and had to be broken in. Could this be causing the problem? It makes sense, but I'm still not sure if it would cause this problem. Any thoughts?

Yea my 06 l7 were stiff didnt move much when u push them now i had them playing for like 4 days and there way less stiff but i doubt thats the problem they just get louder after their broken, just set amps conservately for now then in like a week after their broken in set the amps and see how it sounds.
