Well then again I apologize. I am ALWAYS willing to learn new things. I was big into audio a few years back on the circuit and this was THE BELIEF between everybody at the time. But I guess also it makes sense that the amplifier puts out more power and that is why everybody associated with distortion. they have 800 watt amp on 800 watt sub fine then they cranked everything and it blows like bass boost. so bass boost doesn't hurt anything? ???? ALso again sorry for causing such a ruckus . Again I typically don't argue in this manor. But typically I am never wrong lol( but this time I was and I think it had to do with a lot of the old school things I learned)I always did wonder how bass boost make the sub LOUDER without increasing wattage lol. Again sorry just this has been my belief for so long I was a bit stubborn on it. Sometimes old beliefs die hard. shrugs And honestly I really am the 2003 meca MR5 world record holder.I guess when companies say the sub can handle less when distorted is due to for example.... If they have a 700 watt sub. they say will handle 700 clean watts or 400 dirty... but that is because they are going by amplifier ratings. and that 400 watt amp probably will put out 700. and a 700 watt amp if you clip the signal might put out 1000 to 1100 rms. Ok I got ya now. sorry again
