ive got the big3 done.. and a yellow top..

im using 4g wire for power and ground for amp. 2gwire for the big3 and i have some 8g wire running to other misc locations under the hood from the - of battery...

do i have to get a bigger alt to make it stop dimming... b/c i do not want a cap

not sure what size the alt is.. i can go look here in a few..

amp is brutus 1800d 1ohm... radio is a pioneer 4600

ive just read that people added a yellow top and it stopped it. they didn't have to replace the alt...... if i remember correctly its like a120amp or so..

Yikes, you are only using 4 ga to the amp? Not nearly enough current carrying capacity in a 4 gauge wire to carry that much current more than 2 feet.

i mean would 2g work.... b/c i don't have enough room down the side of my car to run 1/0g and i have no time at all to run it down the middle...

What car? I ran 1/0 gauge welding wire down the side of my Neon with no problems, can't even tell its there. Seriously though, 2 gauge is right on the threshold, if not slightly too small, I would run 1/0 gauge.

0 guage. no questions. get some rubberized electrical conduit and some screw-down grommits, and run it under your car with some thick WHITE zipties (from what ive read, the other 'colors' tend to deteriorate for some reason... dont quote me, im not sure if thats true or not)

and it will take all but 20 minutes.

I'd hit up weldingsupply and get wire to run front to back for both power and ground.

in all honesty... i knew i needed bigger wire but im too cheap to dish out the cash..

the amp kit that came with my amp had this so i used it
