overthinking connections that can't be soldered

How do the professionals attach a 4 ga power wire to a ANL fuse block that is intended for 4 ga wire. Just strip the wire, shove it in the hole and screw it down? Would you recommend tinning the ends? Would you recommend wrapping the ends?

It seems to me if you strip the wire > push the wire into the fuse block > screw it down, the screw will just smash the individual strands apart maybe breaking individual strands.

If I'm overthinking this, tell me to goto hell. If there is a pro out there that likes everything done to the T, I'd really like to hear your input.

I've never had a problem with just cramming it in there...if done correctly, it just compresses the wire, not breaking it.

you can tin all you want... the solder would just get smashed by the allen screw and hinder the connection.

Lets ADD more things in the current path... that of course makes things way better.

so maybe i'll wrap my copper with brass... they wrap that in silver... and then wrap that in gold and then wrap that in more copper... THEN stick it in the dis block and screw it in... MAXIMUM CONNECTORAGE!

its either going to be:

copper/fuse block

or

copper/solder/fuse block

why add stuff that is 100% not needed....?

and please tell me how solder makes the connection in a fuse block more solid?

Solder is meant to insulate a spliced connection and add strength to the joint.... not to be used superfluously.

There is the answer, you said it yourself. A bunch of strands of wire is much weaker than tinned strands of wire. I would rather have tinned strands being compressed, therefore having a more solid connection.

Electrical flow is the same, but peace of mind is not.
