they tried to get me today. was on my way to pick up my gf's oldest daughter from basketball practice when a guy that was following behind me beeped and yelled " do you want to buy some speakers" couldnt make out waht all he was saying so i pulled over and he pulls in.

opens up his van and has a couple sets of speakers and a couple surround sound systems. he shows the magazine with the msrp listed at 2500 lol. i knew this was a scam. he says this story about he wont get paid for what he dont sell and he was over 400 bux so he would take 250. i said nah. he says ok, 200. i say no. he said ok well then how much you got? i said 50 bux lol. he says you cant go to the bank and get more?

i said nope. he said ok well can you come up with 150? i said nope. he then gives up and said ok i was just trying to hook you up with a good deal here. i said its cool and good luck on the scam. he gave me a funny look and got in his van a sped off.

but for anyone that may get approached by these guys beware. its a big scam.

i don't see the scam here.. he was trying to sell you speakers in a legit fashion for way under MSRP. i mean the speakers were in front of you weren't they? he didn't say he'd ship them to ya or say gimmie 200 bucks and i'll be right back.

the mag has fake no name stuff with higher reviwes over the name brand stuff , so it makes u think its so high end that u just never heard of it they get the stuff for like $80 a peice.

Ive heard where the guy agreed to buy them ,but needed to go to the bank to get more cash, but got the speakers put in his car first, when the van followed him to the bank, he just drove to the Police station instead.. The van kept driving. So he scammed the scammer.

I actually bought a set of these speakers. They work really well. They are better than my neighbors BOSE set for sure. I got them for half off the MSRP in the book. My only complaint is that I cannot find the guy to buy another set for the basement.
