It might not boot or it will only see the max. My guess is it might not boot. 2 256s is the ONLY way to go.

its got 192mb now. but i still want to go with 2x 256 if i can find them.

If it has a slot or USB for it yes. Not sure about a DVD drive. You are better off getting an external one. Do you have any stores like Microcenter or Frys there? If not you can order it from their online store, tiger direct, newegg or whatever. Should be pretty inexpensive.
