You make a **** good point. People say they know of a band, but could not tell you any of their albums, and hell if you ask them any info about the musician behind each instrument. I am no expert, but talking about music to anyone feels futile. New or old. If it isn't on a playlist on their favorite station, or what have you, they don't know anything about it. Hell, even if it is on their playlist. Music just doesn't seem to hold an interest to people anymore. There is some extremely good old rock. I saw Across the Universe...I thought it was okay but I didn't think the music did The Beatles justice. I can still appreciate it as a fan, though.
The Who are simply amazing...Quadrophenia on vinyl still makes me quiver. And Floyd is always good, but Wish You Were Here is undoubtedly their best album.
Classic Rock is in a weird place....you hear a lot of singles on the radio over and over and over again, but the genre is still under-appreciated. Take some time to download the full discography of a lot of the premier bands and I think a lot of people will be really impressed.
Don't forget to listen to Fleetwood Mac - Rumors. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
But really guys....that's the reason we're all here in the first place (or should be). Because we just love music....

Where is Alliance Ohio?Joe, if you want any vinyl, I have 4 peaches crates chock full of stuff. All the big names, and a lot of stuff that left me going //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif
Think of any artists you want, I'll rummage and see if they're in there.
Call me up... I'll go...I need to go record searching more often...
INdeed. Without music I would have been dead a long time ago...But really guys....that's the reason we're all here in the first place (or should be). Because we just love music....

I've never liked Zappa that much. I respect what the man did, but don't really care for his stuff...I've just started collecting vinyls. One of my favs is Sheik Yerbouti by Frank Zappa
I might go this weekend sometime.... I'll let you know...Call me up... I'll go...

I discovered Yes when I was visiting a friend of mine. His dad has a HUGE vinyl collection and we started playing them.I also picked up a few Yes albums and Jethro Tull. Good stuff there.
