Old vs. New II

I have 3 copies at the house...only one I consider near mint (although the jacket isn't perfect). You can occasionally find it still sealed on eBay, but you can also usually find mint copies for less than $10.

There is some extremely good old rock. I saw Across the Universe...I thought it was okay but I didn't think the music did The Beatles justice. I can still appreciate it as a fan, though.
The Who are simply amazing...Quadrophenia on vinyl still makes me quiver. And Floyd is always good, but Wish You Were Here is undoubtedly their best album.

Classic Rock is in a weird place....you hear a lot of singles on the radio over and over and over again, but the genre is still under-appreciated. Take some time to download the full discography of a lot of the premier bands and I think a lot of people will be really impressed.

Don't forget to listen to Fleetwood Mac - Rumors. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
You make a **** good point. People say they know of a band, but could not tell you any of their albums, and hell if you ask them any info about the musician behind each instrument. I am no expert, but talking about music to anyone feels futile. New or old. If it isn't on a playlist on their favorite station, or what have you, they don't know anything about it. Hell, even if it is on their playlist. Music just doesn't seem to hold an interest to people anymore.

Joe, if you want any vinyl, I have 4 peaches crates chock full of stuff. All the big names, and a lot of stuff that left me going //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

Think of any artists you want, I'll rummage and see if they're in there.

But really guys....that's the reason we're all here in the first place (or should be). Because we just love music....

Where is Alliance Ohio?

Might time for a road trip...

Across the Universe is an amazing movie. Especially if you watch it high, I think it was made to be watched high, given how trippy some scenes can get.

I've been getting into The Beetles, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin lately, especially Zep.

A lot of all their music is very trancy, psychodelic sounding...you can tell a lot of their (Beetles, Floyd, Zep) stuff was recorded during the hippie days of the 60's and 70's. I love sittin back and token to some Floyd, definitely makes you appreciate all the old school artists.

If you get a chance check out the DVD The Song Remains The Same...has some killer solo's on there that Page rips. Floyd also puts on a great show.

With all due respect....if you need to get high to listen to bands like The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin to really appreciate the music...you have problems.

And that is from someone who doesn't mind a little cannabis himself.

edit: Ehron beat me.
