I actually think things are a little better now...we have some good mods in place, back in they day of Johnny Drama and Ngism you got banned for nothing occasionally...and believe it or not Goob was here less than he is now, most members didn't even know he existed.

I cant speak for all mods, but the way Im handling those types of situations is members who return after an absence that means they do not know the new rules, dont get banned for their avatar. Its not fair to ban someone for a rule they are not aware of yet, imo. So worst case scenario Id simply ask the member to remove/change their avatar. That's exactly what happened with jer_stud yesterday, and it went smoothly.
As for Sakura's avatar, it seems pretty harmless to me. I dont plan on asking her to change it unless the person who sets policy, Goob, requests it. This does not mean you guys should run out and start posting cartoon nudes. Pushing the limits is exactly how we got to the strict rules on not even allowing bathing suits. If I see members trying to push the limits by posting nude or semi nude cartoons, I will ask them to remove it, give them an infraction, or place a ban (depending on the pic itself). Again I do not set policy here, so this is not an official declaration of the rules, just my interpretation of them, which may be overruled at any time.

I think that parallels the industry and the "pimp my ride" generation and this outsourcing of production and the race to zero.
