Old solo 15c?

I've got an old Solobaric 15c, had it since '99, that I recently threw in my sons Scion xA just for the hell of it. It's been in a 1.5 ft^ sealed box since new but if I leave it in his car it's gonna need a new box built. My question...Is 1.5 ft^ optimal? 4th order maybe? There's about 4-5 ft^ in the cargo area available. It'll be getting 600 rms with a decent HU.

I also have a first gen L7 10. Would I be better off to ditch the 15 and go with the 10 in a ported box? I know these subs aren't the greatest but either one will be plenty good enough for his first bass experience.

Music interests are mostly metal but still like to throw in a bass track every now and then just for fun.

I'd say that 1.5 is about right for that 15. They round solos are made for small sealed. I used to love em' if you're looking for SQ they're hard to beat! I don't really like the L7's but to each his own. I guess you'd have to listen to each one to see which you'd prefer.

They work really well in the 1.5 box but if you go bigger sealed you will notice more low end from them. Even going up to 1.75 you should notice the low end pick up much more. SQ wise, the L7 cant hold the round solobarics at all. The L7 can get louder, but that is it. Not even a fair fight. The best 4th order system I ever heard used the round solo. They do well in 4th, but I wont speak on sizes. I do remember that system didnt have crazy ratios because the guy focused more on SQ than SPL.

Eldorado is one word! I know this because i have 38 years of Rado life behind me.

I know Jimmy Watson...he is a couple years older than me. His cousin (Justin Butts) is a year younger.
