Hi to every one.

im new to this forum and ive been in to old school

Speakers woofers amps sterios as far back as

I remember.

Im a proud owner of some old school rfp subs & amps

I have recently reformed my rfp 1412 woofers but i have a little problem on one of the woofers face right next to the new form and i would like some advice on how i can get it back to normal with out wrecking the corn.

It happend last week i was wiping away the old glue on the edge of the corn and i got some of the rubbing alcahol on the corn its self and its removed some of the protective lare stuff the reason im asking is because im needing to fix this please any help on what i need to get to fix it so it looks like it was before hand please some one help me

Come on peeps some one must know what the protective

stuff is called its as you look at the woofer next to the dust cap i dont know what its called thats why im asking you guys please.

You talking about that black stuff around the dust cap that basically glues it to the cone? It's an adhesive like this, Pro-Grade Black Rubberized Speaker Glue

Hi thank you for replying trust fund baby.

No its nothing to do with the dust cap im on about the actual corn as your looking at it its got a smooth texture with loads of bumps like its got goose bumps thats what im asking if you know what its called that would be great.

No EM2_rob its that stuff that protects the corn on the front of the woofer it looks like goose bumps

Pictures? You likely won't be able to make it look good as new without replacing cone even if it were worth the trouble...... If it's only a cosmetic issue don't worry about it.

Hi Souldrop How do i upload a picture as im new and i dont know how to plus i dont think you can get corns for these speakers as far as im aware.

Use photobucket or imgur to upload an image and then copy direct link. Come here and click the picture icon above the text entry box and then paste link there. If it's a cosmetic issue it won't really matter. That particular model is solid for low power applications, but nothing super great. It wouldn't be worth reconing even if it was broken and parts were available.
