Just picked up this amp last night for 80 bucks!! Do i need to have 2 power wires and 2 grounds? or can i just use one of the ports?

Yes, It has 2 powers, and 2 grounds. Do i need to use both?

There is nothing in them, Thats why im asking. I think ill just hook it up and see if i can power it up with just one power/ground wire.

Are you sure that amp has (2) power and (2) ground connections? Or does it have one of each? I think its just one of each, but its been a min since I have seen one.

It should work with just the one side.

Nice amp you got there, the only reson for the two inputs is to make sure enough current can flow through.I believe those are 4ga which should be fine, but I would suggest running dual lines to it.

Never knew, I had a 250a and a 500a but the 800a2 was a lil out of my budget back then lol. Learn something new everyday.

Agreed though, very nice amps, still miss mine sometimes.

Yeah the 8002 was kinda power hungry so they put dual 4ga inputs.The POWER punch was the sh!t!

I would say if you got 1/0 you might not need the second.But if you just have 4ga I would throw a second line on it.

How would i go about this 2nd line? Another fuse straight from the battery? or can i put like a battery in my trunk too and that will help?

yo, i have the same amp and you only need to use one of the terminals to get it to work, just make sure if u use the power on the left you use the ground on the left too and vice versa for the right hand side. And they are 8 gauge term's NOT 4 gauge, dont ask me why.

forgot to mention, as far as the extra terminals, I used a capacitor wired straight into those. Works just the same as having wired in between the battery and amp.

what exactly will happen if they are wired in the opposite side??
