yeah so my parents went to one of those storage building auctions and found a speaker and they brought it up to my house last week on their visit. this speaker happened to be an old school solo baric 18'' it is in a S****ty pressed wook box but it still works. is it worth anything? heard they were really good speakers at the time. would it be worth reconing maybe?

It still works right? You might not need a recone, Kicker used to make old subs like a tank.

I recently built a new box for these old SVC 8ohm CompVRs for a friend. Put them on 500w and they pound once again.

looks like q-logic built that box, lol.

Got a couple pairs myself. Great tiny sealed enclosure subs . Don't think you will be able to find a recone. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You are correct sir . Don't recall them ever making 18" round solo's . Only comps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I went through three seperate old school kickers. I had one, Kicker 15" COMP and two Kicker 15" COMP FreeAirs.

I liked them all, they got loud just try not to ever go over the PEAK watts because they can't handle it for long. The 15" Comp blew in about a month off of a KX450.2bridged (Single Voice Coil) and the two FreeAirs happened to last about 6 Months a-piece on the same bridge.

They got silly loud, competed with most of the subwoofers out today. Only thing was they lacked some range in frequency on alot of new rap/hip-hop. Hit hard with all dance/club music however. Put that 18" in a right box, with the right amp. Like something decent, but with low watts maybe some sort of SQ amp and it will make that 18" bump even at RMS.
