Old School Image Dynamics Horn Tweeters

they do???

see ill be lost on them lol

I hooked them up in my room to a mtx rtp202 I have installed under my computer it sounded nice amped up but againg I need to really hook up to a car to really hear and try and understand how they sound and what not

but if I don't know how to use them ill just throw them back his way lol

Mount them under the dash, level with the floor, as far apart as you can get them. Use straps to secure them.. They need **** all for power and can get louder than any conventional tweeter at the expense of frequency response.. It helps to have a dual 31 band eq to flatten them out.. Still level matching can go a long way in helping the situation. They don't come with a crossover... If you can get a hold of a capacitor, you want something that causes a roll off at 6db/octave starting around 12000-14000hz. Doing so will protect the speaker from bass AND since it's so high in frequency, will actually flatten the frequency response significantly. On a budget that's the best way to wire them up.

Something like this would do wonders on a budget.... It'll flatten the response a bunch and basically protect the driver. Only issue you'll have is your midrange likely won't keep up.. It takes big power and high effeciency speakers to keep up with horns.. Also, horns can and will play much lower than a conventional tweeter. 1.5uF 100V Non-Polarized Capacitor | 027-322

I have a crossfire vr404 I was going to get rid of would that be good????
Literally ANY amp you can think of can power horns.. Those horns are 110db/1w/1m, give or take a few db's either way.. Most car audio speakers clock in at 89db/1w/1m. That literally means the horns with 1 watt of power is as loud as most mids with 128 watts going to it, BEFORE you can factor in power compression. Once you put compression into the mix, most car audio speakers cannot get as loud as horns on 1 watt of power, without at least 150-175 watts to the speaker, nearing many of the speakers RMS, or above it even! The horns will never see more than 5 watts of power unless you want them way louder than every other speaker, period.

Your going to want the gain on the horn amp all the way down, then turn the gain on the mids amp all the way up until the 2 begin to blend properly in SPL. You may be suprised how far the gain knob will have to go on the mids to do that..

I was thinking about wiring front + back to rear channel on amp and keep the horns for the front channel on amp???

U think it's a good idea?

I also have some eq's I have a kenwood kgc4042a and a clarion EQ which will be better??

Sorry for all the questions

What mids are you running right now?

Don't know if considered mids are my 2way cerwin vega 6.5s and pioneer 4x10 but I'm bout to swap out

Yeah, those wont' keep up with horns whatsoever.. What deck are you running.. Also do you have a amp that can bandpass lying around.. LPF and HPF at the same time? If your going to run horns, take the time to give them an install worth running them. If you do it right, you probably won't want to go back to conventional drivers.. Post pics of the horns as well, so we can see which ones you have.. take a pic of the driver and the horn body.

Ok I will do later on today after work

But I have a sorry *** jvc I'm trying to get me a pioneer 80prs

What u mean band pass LPF & HPF at the same time??
