Old School guy needs new system

I was checking out Arc on Woofers, etc store. They have a good 4 channel on sale now. FD 4150 - ARC Audio 4 Channel 640 Watt Amplifier

Does SI have anybody on the forums? I wonder what the lead time is on the subs. It would take me a while to build a box anyway, so I might wait and try them out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

sundown is more for power...their sq is good, but for the price, u can def find better...u want a lot of clean power tho, sundown ftw...arc is great sq if u get the rite amp, ie, expensive...the low end arc isnt good sq tho

The specs look good on the FD 4150. At that price, I don't know if I would find a better amp for the money. Any thoughts?

Thanks everybody!

Even Arc Audio's lower end product is quality.

The "sq" of zenon amplifiers (sundown) is fine. People toss around misinformation at a staggering pace where "sq" is concerned. High end sound quality systems require labor intensive installs. What kind of equipment you're using is secondary to HOW you're using it. You can get very good results with average equipment if you know what you're doing.

It's a fine amplifier. It, like the other amps I showed you, was designed by Robert Zeff. That dude knows a thing or two about building good amps. If you need 80 watts per channel, you could do a hell of a lot worse.

i was just saying, for the price of the sundown amps (i had a 50.4 i just got rid of for a dsc480), u can do better on sq...there was a noticeable difference between the 2 amps and the dsc is better imo

The DSC is an MB Quart amp, right?

I've installed quite a few dsc4125's. They're decent budget friendly amplifiers, but I wouldn't trade the DC PAI-120.4 (zenon board) my friend uses for two of them...

Does anybody know what the SI subs go for? And what they want for power? I looked at the website, and they look pretty impressive.
12" subwoofer

3.2" mounting depth*

10" diameter nomex spider

14mm of verified Xmax

2.5" diameter, 8 layer copper voice coil

Dual 4 Ohm

450 watts power handling

Flat diaphragm

Custom tooling of virtually every part

10 ring neo magnet cluster

0.5 ft^3 sealed enclosure requirement

I don't remember what they cost. I think they're less than $200 each, but don't quote me on that...

Thanks! I will wait for a while and hope they start selling again soon //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
