Featured Old School Cool

Seen this stuff pop up for sale locally a few hours ago, figured for $60 I could probably flip some or all of it, I don't really need any of it. Kind of old school. I don’t think the sub is old school and its pretty cheap looking, but it came with it.

RF preamp is missing a knob but a cool piece in its day. Not sure the date these were made, but thinking early 90's?

The Audiocontrol crossover, you know its old when it has to have resistor chips changed to even change frequency. I looked up the manual for this 2SX and its dated 1986, so pretty old.

The Coustic amp while missing screws, the board looks decent and should be an easy repair. I have another Amp 460 in the basement somewhere that needs repair. The old Coustic amps performed pretty well.

Haven’t tested anything other than the sub since I have an amp in my truck that was easy to connect it to when I got home. I think the folks I got the stuff from just flip stuff they get, not sure, but $60 was fair. They even tossed in the old flight case the amp / small stuff was in, has a Kenwood sticker on both sides.

JC Whitney always had the best stuff. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Just checked and those jokers are still in business.

I had the tinted headlight covers and coil spring clamps on 1981 Honda Civic Sedan.

I ended up taking of the clamps because they would rub with any bumps in the road.

I ended donating the car to Volunteers Of America before we moved into our 1st house in 1997. It had an alarm system from MCM Electronics (which ended up in the 1983 Grand Marquis), 2 x Pyramid Super Pro PW1295US in a BR enclosure ( I still have their box building manuals), a Clarion tape deck, 4" coaxials under the dash in the factory location, and I can't remember what amps I had in car.

My cousin had a pair of the Super Pro Super Blue 15’s in the late 90’s, I actually I liked them. I think Pyramid had them made by Eminence in those days. I later found a pair of the same 12’s on ebay really cheap, was nostalgic so I bought them but never used them and the cones got damaged after moving unfortunately. I think they were PW1254-US, cousins were the PW1558-US if I recall.

Just did a google search for the memories, they were this sub:

I remember one of the electronic stores in a nearby city had a bunch of Pyramid stuff, off-brand home electronics, giant boomboxes with lights in the woofers.

Walking by, you were immediately drawn in by flash and glitz. And then you realized that cool looking EQ was a "500 Watt" EQ/booster, the head unit with the green backlighting wasn't even up to Kraco standards, those big home speakers were "White Van Brand".

That EQ was the first EQ I have ever installed. I installed it in my 1979 F250 truck. Gotta love that Echo switch.

Remember when plexiglass became a necessary component of a system?
Remember when people mistakenly used acrylic, which scratched to sh** if you looked at it wrong?

Plexi glass bandpass boxes were the most popular boxes back in the day of plexi's popularity.
I had one in a 4th order config, with two 8" CV drivers. It hit about 125dB with a Punch 75. Not bad at the time.

Sold it to a kid who worked for me, for his '84 dog of a Corvette.
It got stolen before he even paid me for it.
