Old python/dei alarm to new dei ?

Hey guys, I got an old python alarm that came with a truck but, came with no remotes so, instead of paying $50.00 for a new remote, I'd rather upgrade...

Do the newer dei brains/module have the same connectors on the module so, i can just plug the new one into the existing wire/plugs ? The old unit is a python system 70... All the new ones, from what i can see, look like the same plugs..

Obviously, if the newer one has features that i am not wired for, those will not work, i understand that.

well even if you can't just plug them in, it wouldn't be hard to cut those wires and wire them to the new plug...

Even if the plugs are the same, is the pins in the plug the same ?

I just want my power door locks back and the security of an alarm without going through major surgery.

just rewire it cut the plug and wire in the new alarm too it, it is easy i have done a few that way.

I guess thats prob. what i will have to do... Are the wire colors the same ?

they wont talk to you if your not a dealer. the directtechs passwords are floating around. you can go on there and look.

try the most obvious sequence of numbers 1 through 6

I would get the old alarm manual/wiring diagram and compare the wire colors to the new alarm. Some of the plugs might be the same but I'd not chance it to just plug it in and go.

You don't want to fry your new alarm brain from bad wiring.
