i want to hook up a back up cam. to the front bumper so i can video tape while im driving. will it be possible to hook it up to my in dash TV when i get it? and how could i set it up to a hard drive to tape it?

If it is a true backup cam, the image will be flipped. You can possibly find a camera that allows you to unflip it, or maybe even a head unit that will do so, not sure. As for recording, you could run aux out from the head unit and into the input for whatever device will record video from RCA inputs.

buy a security camera thats the size of a quarter and mount it up front. then put the av into your recorder then to the av unit.... dont get a back up camera... thats dumb..

incase somebody slams on the brakes infront of you and you hit them they can't say it was your fault

I do not have a clue what you are talking about. A back-up camera goes in the rear of your vehicle. I don't think you know what your talking about either, because a backup camera activates when you are in reverse and has nothing to do with the front of the vehicle. :p

You could get almost any small camera (eBay) as long as it is waterproof then get a 12 volt VCR, Hi8 or DVD camcorder that has the proper RCA input.

I bet you could find a cheap camcorder at a local pawn shop and save some $$$.

If you have a car PC then you could connect the camera directly to the car PC to record on the HDD. Taking streaming video takes up a lot of HDD space so you'd need a big hard drive.

yea, but I'm sure you can just bypass that function just like we bypass the parking brake switch wire so we can watch movies while driving.........I guess maybe plug it into the aux, and it'll show vid when you source the aux input?

Dont know....just guessing. Someone mustve found a way to bypass it, but not sure why. I do know my friend has one, and you can watch behind you while driving, but I'm not positive how he wired it.
