It didn't take long for the competitive juices to start flowing and I started competing in local sound offs. I started in the 50 watt class using a Punch45 powering 4 tweeters, 6 midbass drivers, and 2 10's. I still have a shoe box full of caps and coils...lol. I eventually wanted more, which I think we all share to some extent, and ended up with the Punch45, 2 Punch75's and 2 Punch150's driving a total of 16 speakers. Back in the early 90's that was alot of power in a daily driver, not to mention the investment! I've been away from car audio for 10 years, and just recently caught the bug again. I wanted to introduce myself because I'll be reading alot of posts and hopefully chatting with you experienced audiophiles. I'll be putting together two systems in the next few months, one for me and one for the wife, and I'd really appreciate all the help I can get. I'm a decent box builder, understand speakers, crossovers, and basic equalization, but the new technology thats available is amazing. Of course I could go find an old school HCCA225 and see how many speakers I can drive...lol, but I've already been down that road. Anyway, I wanted to introduce myself so that you might cut me a little slack for being a dumb f*** once in awhile...lol. Hope to chat with you all soon.

I started in 1983 and shortly found Zapco amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif
I bailed after 10 years to take a break and returned to audio, but I got
more interested in home audio because I had troubles installing my vision
in my Dodge maxi-van, the 1 ton. I was dissapointed as vehicles were too small
and my ideas were too big for the install. Home audio, the house is bigger than the car, woohoo,
but after spending a few years trying to build the ultimate home audio
death metal battlestation, I ran into real estate issues again, the house is
too small for the vision.... but the show must go on and I came up with a plan
and the project is still underway...... point is, car audio is always cool, I troll
the forums but the path of evil always leads you to home audio as there is
more room for the big systems. From what I can tell in the car audio world,
it's no different than the old days. 95% of people are just interested in
woofers.. woofers.. woofers... not many do hardcore full range SQL systems
which is what I like...
