I have two 5x7's Alpine SPR57C speakers going in the front (300W peak, 100W RMS, 4 Ohm, 87dB sens.) and two 6x9's Pioneer TS-A6993R speakers going in the back (460W peak, 80W RMS, 4 Ohm, 93dB sens.). I will be running them off an amp, my questions are....... I currently have a Rockford Fosgate P5002 2-Channel Amp (750x2 Peak, 500x1 bridged, 250x2 power at 2 Ohms, 125x2 RMS, 2 Ohms minimum impedance) Can I use this? If I can will this be good enough (I want this to sound pretty sweet, obviously not subwoofer booming lol)? If I can not use this what amp should I be looking for.... 4or2-channel? Power output x4 or x2? RMS output x4 or x2? I would like to keep this within 200$ if possible. And if possible what brand would be best?

By the way, I don't have to use the Rockford Fosgate Amp, I have that for my Pioneer Premier 800 Watt Subs... I just figured I can always get a new amp for those... But I currently do not have them installed in my car, I don't know whether I want to put them back into my new car...

If you want to use that amp - run each side (Left and right sides of the car) parallel for a two ohm load, to each channel on the amplifier. Set the gains correctly, and you're good to go. I don't see a need for a four channel system unless you are going active.

Good luck controlling the front/rear speaker volume by wiring everything off of a 2 channel amp. What is going to **** even more is if your rear 6x9s overpower the front 5x7s, thus screwing up your staging and imaging.

The way I would do it in your situation is power the front speakers off of the Punch 5002 and power the rear speakers off of head unit power, but that is just me. My suggestion, try different scenarios and see what you like better. Personally, I can't stand mids and highs coming from behind my head wrecking my front stage. You may like this. The beautiful thing about this hobby/obsession/addiction is the options we have available.

That would also be my suggestion - keep the front stage strong by powering them off the amp, back on head unit, as gunz4me said. That would be ideal for control purposes.

So it will still sound pretty sweet with just those two running off the amp? should i get a second amp or will it be still good to keep just one fro the front?

You won't need to amp the rear - no need for it.

Most people here, when getting a good system, only get front speakers and leave the back empty anyways except for the subs.

Object is to hear the sound from in front of you, rather than behind.
