so ive decided to upgrade from a single 10 (d6 ported) to a single 12 inside a 2002 ram 1500 quad cab, although at a later date it may be moved into a similar year bmw, benz havent made up my mind on keeping my truck or not.

anyway ive got a d3 800.1 for power and roughly ~260ish

which would put me in the budget for a Q, Type X, RL-p etc. im open to new ideas and opinions on all of these and there isnt anywhere around here that i can get a listen to any of the above.

in trying to push the diamond to its limits lately ive kind of decided on wanting more sound quality with the added bonus of it becoming loud when i feel like it.

I plan on moving the diamond to my home stereo.

i will be building my own box to the recomended specs.

as to why i want to switch, the diamond doesnt quite "fill" the cabin and i figure a 12 should do that just fine.

would prefer a bit tighter than the d6, i like it but would like to try something a little different.

oh and i almost forgot, it will mostly be playing 70's influenced rock with a steady mix of hip hop

so a real low hitting sub would be sweetness.

I wouldnt buy a type-x.

Could you fit the space for a 15? Or is it just a 12.

For a 12 I would suggest a used SI Mag if you could get your hands on one for 260, there have been some that cheap before but not many...

The FI Q would also be a good choice

If you want to save money buy an RL-P 12, but you sacrifice a small amount of SQ and SPL, even though it wasnt a HUGE difference to me... definitely noticible though.

i would prefer a 12, i had an old school kicker 15 i borrowed from my buddy in there for a while and it was just too much space to take up. im more than likely going to port the enclosure as well so thats even more space.

when you say losing spl and sq with the rl-p are you saying losing it just to the mag or the Q too?

I have an Arc Audio Flatline 12 that would do the job for you. Small sealed enclosure or you can port if you like. It is quick and accurate, not to mention pounds. 240 it is yours.
