Ohm help

Hello all.

I'm starting up my system, and need some help on constructing it.

I have a POS Kenwood HU that I will soon be replacing, however for now it will be my source. To amp it, I have a Soundstream TRA 880.5 . My sub is the JL Stealthbox, filled with a JL 10W6 V2. The speakers, curently only one set, is the MB Quart QSD216. Monster Cable 402 XLN speaker cable, 4 gauge power cable, ground cable, remote turn on, 200 A fuse, ANL fuse holder, and assorted Monster crap.

My question...my TRA allows me to shoot 60W independently to 4 channels each at a 4 ohm load. My QSD 216 system are 4 ohm, but what I dont understand is, is the woofer itself a 4ohm, and the tweeter a 4 ohm, and doesnt that present a 2 ohm load? If it doesnt, is there any way I can make my component set present a 2 ohm load at each channel?

WHen I get my rear fill speakers, I realize that all I have to do is parallel wire to achieve the 2 ohm spec. However, this will only allow me to have 2 channels, 2 lefts and 2 rights. Can I create a system that will present a 2 ohm load to each channel without buying even more speakers? I really want to retain my fading/balancing, and the RMS of the QSD is 90-170. 60W i believe is way underdriving it, a nice 120W from a 2ohm load would be better, right?

Also. I plan on getting a navi unit to replace my current POS Kenwood, an I wanted to incorporate a decoder one day to watch movies great. Is there anything I should know?

Is it possible to rig a bass boost remote, even though my TRA does not have an output for one? It only has the little knob on the backplate.

Thanks for reading!

also...any ideas on subwoofer cable and is it worth it to purchase monster interconnects??

anything i should know about the install i mentioned, I would appreciate.

any recommendations on an 5 channel amp that can drive my speakers properly at a 4 ohm load and maintain the 400 watts my sub needs?

I would give the Quarts the 60w and see if you like it. You might be suprised at the output that 60w will give you. There is no minimum power for speakers. The range of power given represents the max power at different high pass freqs for the set. If you run a lower cutoff freq, you can't run as much power to them.

No reason to buy anything special for the sub in the way of cabling. Save the money and avoid the Monster Cable brand.

Any ideas about the bass boost cable and teh other questions? ALso...the 10w6v2 I am interested in is 4 ohm DVC...can I parallel these DVC in order to produce a 2 ohm load, so I can get my amp to send it 400 watts?

OK searched and found, yes my DVC can be paralleled to 2 ohms with this single unit. whew. if anyone is bored and would like to go through the rest of my questions, and give me insight, much obliged
