Official CarAudio.com Big 3 Thread (((PICS)))

He means match the fuse amperage to the wires max amperage. So if your wire is rated at 200 amps use a 200 amp fuse, and he's also saying to use a 200 amp fuse for 1/0 gauge wire at the lenth ur running it. Wow i don't think that helped at all LMAO

I've got an interesting one.

Everytime I touch my new pos-pos wire to the alternator, it sparks like mad. Doesn't seem to do it til it comes in contact with the current positive wire. I disconnected the neg, and did it again, fine. Went to connect the neg, sparks like crazy. After that, rather then frying anything, I stopped.

Nothing is grounded, and yet it seems to act like it was.

Just wanted to mention you should be careful when doing the chassis/engine ground, the block should usually be fine, but i wouldn't suggest using the aluminum head(if yours is Al) as a grounding point.

i cannot find any battery terminas that accept dual 0 guage wires besides the phoenix gold and i think its discontinued.. i looked on ebay there are no dual 0 gauge terminals.... what is everyone using

I can't give a good reason other than experience. I have grounded to aluminum before and had problems down the road. If memory serves me (it probably doesn't) i think aluminum is actually a better conductor than steel, so I would have to guess it's the rate at which it tarnishes. If nobody else chimes in I'll actually take time and find the true answer, for now my chem book isn't moving and i'm studying biology.

i got a ? i was wondering since i'm running a 2000w audiobahn amp and 2 12inch audiobahn eternal, does any one think that i sould run 3 batteries or just 2 and them all being optima red tops

it doesn't matter how many batteries you have if your alt can't charge them.. also you might want to stick around and read a bit... audiobahn is not the shit... it's overpriced and will underpreform for the $$...

Use a wire terminal on the end of the wire like this:

Then a batt post like this:
