nube install question

I got a Pioneer DXT-2266 for a gift I installed it in my 2004 Sante Fe- I used the harness from my new radio and installed wire for wire into the factory harness adaptor from my old radio HU.

The radio plays ok (up to level 5) and distorts after that (it's loud but not as loud as my old Clarion) and my sub woofer will not work- although I noticed a small tear in the sub at the foam ring.

could my old (10 year old unk after market type) speakers now be bad? and my sub blown (the OHMS reading is .0)

The 2 amps are getting power (lights are on)

AND there is a hiss coming from the speakers even with the car off- and no increase when the engine revs

On the install I made my own RCA cables from the old radio to attach to the amp plugs

any ideas? is more info needed? here are some pics

here are the pics the

first is the harness from the new radio

2nd pic is the harness interface to factory harness i used for the ground, power

3rd is the old Clarion radio- I cut these attachments and reused them to attach the radio harness speaker wires to the yellow amp wires for the speakers

4th pic is the rear of the new Pioneer

5th pic is the plugs i plugged into the new Pioneer

6th is the first amp and how it attaches to the rear (sub woofer amp)

7th is the same amp where the yellow speaker wires go in

8th is the rear sub amp

the 4 door speakers sound scratchy and distorted after level 6

and I believe the sub may be blown as there is no sound and the OHM reading is zero

do I need new speakers? new sub?

3rd pic issue.... those rca's don't look right.(that's prob the whine your getting) also rewire all your amps so that there is no wires going under the amp. try to keep the rca's and pwr/ground and speaker wires away from each other.

as a guess i'd say the rca's and headunit are your major problems atm

hang on.... two headunits? whaaaa?

Your new head unit only has one set of line level outputs and your old one had three. What you've done is wired line level outputs cables (the RCAs you cut) into speaker level outputs and you cannot do that. There is a remarkable difference between the voltage levels of line level (RCA) and speaker level (the purple, green, white & gray wires) signals. That's why they aren't provided on the same type of connector.

You need to either repair the wires you cut and use the old head unit or use only one set of RCA cables to your amplifiers. You can either use y connectors to split the signal to the two amplifiers or you can use the signal outputs on one amp to feed the signal to the other, if one of your amps has a signal output.
