so basicly iv just gotten a Rockford Fosgate Punch P550.2 2-Channel Car Amplifier bridged to one channel to power my 10 inch kicker sub. has anyone ever expiernced there battery being drained or what not with this amp or any amps from the punch series? today i put my car in park and it just shut the engine off completly and threw the battery light up on the dash board..this battery is about 5 months old aswell..and has being doing that now since that has happened..what i dont understand is why though? it didnt do it for the first week i had it installed. what should i do about it? do i need a bigger battery?

No, you don't need a new battery. You need to recheck all your wiring. I don't think it's your amp that is doing this. You battery doesn't supply the voltage (given your alternator is powerful enough to supply every drop of power for your car) to your amplifier. If your car was started and it just shut off it's got to be something other than the battery. YES, it may be dead, but just replacing the battery, doesn't mean you'll fix your complete problem.

hmm ok so tom. il recheck the wirring..that may be it becuase when i put it in park the engine shuts off and the battery light comes on..but the car stereo, lights, headlights and basiclly all the other electrical iteams in the car are still running and working..it just turns the engine off in park..

It may be a transmission problem, or the alternator MAY be having problems and not able to produce enough amperage to run the car, at idle speeds. Start the car, put it in park and the rev the engine before it dies. If it stays started, it would be the alternator, most likely, but not definative.

hmm it might be a *****. problem since my engine light has been up for some while now..only reason i didnt take it in is becuase the light came up the day after i toke it in...**** ford's.. but anywase..it may just be the *****.

boost it off? what iv been doing latly tohught was actually messing around with the gains and the frequency...trying to make it sounds right..maybe i made a wire lose? ionno.
