Now I think I have a real problem...

is it when the car is running only?
Anytime the cd player is powered on. Now Im hearing a loud cracking from the speakers when it powers on/off. Also, now I have no music from front speakers but I think when I got pissed and pulled on the dash kit I prolly just loosened some wires or something.

if you plug the rcas into the front rca outs or back rca outs you will have a set sub level if your cd player allows it to control the sub volume either way a certain bit. on mine when mine did that i cud turn the actual feature bass up and down and it would stay at the same level.the subwoofer level controller is most likely only hooked up to the RCA outs for the sub. and yea i had blown my ground on my RCA's they say take a wire wrap around each RCA shield. then ground both wires to same ground on the HU. like the metal cage of the HU.

I'm a little slow and still somewhat new to intensive installs/repairs. Can you elaborate on that maybe through a PM? Or just reply here? or leave your AIM name and I can talk? Sorry just trying to fix this crazy *** problem.

i had this EXACT same problem with my 20.1, the rca inputs on the amp were bad.
How did you find this out? How did you fix it? How much was it?

I have an idea to figure out which one it is for sure, someone confirm to me though that this couldnt cause anymore damage.

I could swap out my amp for my brother's amp. Wire in my brothers amp. If the subs make the noises still, then it is my cd player. If there are no noises, then it is my input on amp.

Update:

Met up w/ my brother today to test everything.

First, I swapped his amp into my car. Same noise from subs, but everything works. I assume it is now for sure the Sub Out on the cd player.

Secondly, just to make sure it is my cd player, I try my amp on his subs. Plug everything in, loud noises, minor amp smoke, not good.

Third, return everything to normal just to find out that now my brothers subs make the same noise. He's pissed, Im pissed, and Im ready to sell off everything.

Rundown of today:

My Car still makes the noise

My brothers car now makes the noise as well

I may or may not have fried my amp

wow bro that really really really does blow...i wish i could give advice but everyone else has, i hope something comes through and works again, maybe not though...

I'm having a similar problem. When my H/U powers on, I get a low bass note thats gradually gets louder. I've got a new set of RCAs, but haven't tried them yet. Until I read this thread, I was hoping it was only my RCAs. Now, I'm thinking I have more of a problem //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif. Right before this noise started my H/U lost all of the settings, which I thought was weird. Not trying to jack your thread, but does it sound like I have the same problem? I was planning a new substage, so hopefully its not my amp or sub.

Im personally so frustrated im selling all my equipment and starting from scratch.

And it gets weirder....

Plug in my power/ground/remote/speaker this morning

Do this just to check that the amp is still getting power

Turn on cd player, and...wtf? movement from the subs? without rca's even in?

I swere this amp is possessed.
