Now I need a new box

I had built a box for 2 subs but it fell off the shelf I had it on and damaged it to no end. So now I need a box for one 12" MTX 4500. It is recommended to have a 1.25 cubic foot box. So can anybody just give me some quick dimensions on a square box that will come out to be 1.25 cubic foot? I dont need any special designs. You guys have helped me out alot and I very much appreciate it.

16.5x9.5x17 or 18 or so....should be around there after displacement.

Here this is an example how to do so next time yall know:

EXAMPLE:

20"X20"X15" outside dimensions

now subtract 1.5 off of 3 dimensions asuming using 3/4" MDF

18.5"X18.5"X13.5"

multiply all those =4620.375

Ok quick question. Is the 14.75 box 1.25 cu foot because i am having trouble with my math skills today. Would that be internal dimensions? I need correct external dimensions. Thanks!

Ok I think I got it. I did the math on the 14.75 and it came out to like 1.34 yada yada i think. I lowered it down to 14.5" and I got 1.27. I think I did the math right. Can somebody check behind me?

its 1.35 but the sub itself takes up some space...

I think its bigger than 1.35 because I think I kinda messed up. Can I just put some filler in there or something and it will take care of the volume issue?

Ok now I got a nooob question for yall. I see people talking about tuning there boxes to like 32hz and stuff....what exactly does that mean?

Oh so that only has to do with ported boxes. I wish I could have made one of those. But I am not that experienced with box building yet.

Its very simple to do and you can use programs to help you along the way such as winisd, also for box calculation you can use rockford fosgates site under tech help.
