could be the mechman alt in your 300m. did you put your factory back in and see if that help?

I'm going to do that tomorrow. My father couldn't get anyone to do it today.

In the Monte I got other issues. Voltage is at 15.3 at idle. I thought that was with the car cold, but I drove it from the south side, put it in park and it's 15.3. Battery wasn't hot or anything. It is a 200 amp alt that I changed the pulley form a v belt to serpentine on. I'm a little worried, but I've taken long trips to before I even thought about checking the voltage on it.

doesn't it have an external voltage reg? might have to lower it.

I got my stock alt put back on yesterday and my voltage is not dropping below 13.5 with it as loud as I will play it while driving. It's like 13.8-14.0 at normal listening. That is my stock 130 amp alt. Car was driven for more than 30 minutes. I will ship my alt off Monday to get it tested. I still really don't understand why at the alt is showed one voltage but another at the battery. Did the same even after I redid my big 3.
