my amp is a cadence ultra drive z7000, 1 OHM stable. 1000@2OHM, and 1500@1OHM. so im wanting to get as close as possible to 1 OHM for max watt out put from amp correct??? so i know my OHM's, no problem there, NOTE: im running 3 subs, "all i can fit, without building some crazy *** box that i dont want to build", unless you think i should do 4 subs bc i can get to 1 ohm with 4 subs... anyways back to Q; the closest i can get with 3 subs to 1ohm is 1.34 ohms... using either 2ohm dvc or 4 ohm svc sub woofers, which is better or does it matter? and #2 Q; if amp is pushing close to 1500watts, does than mean each speaker should not go over 500 watts a piece or can i do like 700watts a sub or more??? thanks a bunch.

You done a Big 3? the real question is how many subs do you want to use? 20% +/- in power is irrelevant in your situation. I would recommend 2 subs @ 750w ea. vs 3 at 400w ea....or one bigger one @ 1500w for spl

big 3 has been done, a year ago... lol so what your saying is 2 subs @ 750w each is gonna sound better than 3 subs at 500w each? just bc i can draw the full 1500w out the amp at 1ohm using 2 dvc 4ohm subs?? vs using 3 subs and getting 1.34 ohms? the watts is whats really got me here, iv not been schooled on them yet.

what I was saying was 3 subs , the amp might make 1300w @ 1.3 ohms...with 2 subs A) you can achieve a 1 ohm impedance with 2 D4 subs, or 1 D2 sub. B) if you had to "squeeze" 3 in the space you have, 2 subs or even 1, in it's correct box will hit hard on the 750x2 or 1500x1.

That's true as well... I have a friend who ran 2 L7 Solo Barics D2s parallel to an amp that was supposed to only be stable at 1 ohm. Obviously he was at something like .5 ohms and that amp never missed a beat and could push his subs all day long. Just depends on your amps abilities
