not getting much power from Bxi1606d

i bought a brand new bxi1606d from ebay seller locustaudio (whose one of the greater sellers which is why i bought it from). everything seemed brand new and still virgin. i hooked it up with my ID12v3 (dual 2-ohm) with all proper connections (using 2ga). sub is wired in paralell for a 1ohm load.

why is it that i need to have my gains at 3/4 level whereas when i had it hooked up to my Orion 300D, i only had it at little over half way to get the same amount of volume from the sub?

i tried it out with my older brutus bx1000d and gains were at half way and hit much harder than the bxi1606d at halfway. i let the amp play for 10min for warm up when i experimented.

is it because the orion 300d/bx1000d are much more sensitive than the bxi1606d?

I had a 2005 model hifonics and there gain sensitivity went all the way to 9 volts.Maybe the orion went to only 6 or something?thats all i can think of.

ure amp is prolly not getting the required power that it needs.... new alt or a second batt might be needed..... i needed to do all these upgrades when i upgraded from a bx1000d to a hifonics XX-zues i was havin ure same problem.... trust me man almost for sure u need to provide that thing with more power..... cant have high wattage with out enough amperage to generate that wattage

phase is at 0 degrees (all the way counter clockwise)

sub sonic filter is 15hz (all the way counter clockwise). box is sealed

70amp OEM alt/optima yellow batt/big-3

i read the gain setting tutorial but afraid id blow the sub. as soon as i saw the sub get dimples during excursion, i got spooked lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Have you tried messing with the phase?

How about the filters?

man this i jmo. these amps are garbage. my brother and a mutual homie bought one. one was hooked up to 10l7 10's ported and the other to two 12 l7 sealed. it sounded like shit. you had to crank the amp to get much out of it.

whats funny is with the same installs i replaced the brutus with my kx 1200.1 and i tell you it was like night and day. both systems slammed for real. this was with both setups. ive owned the older bx1500 and it was cool but this amp at least from my experience, is garbage.

I think I would have to agree as well... The new stuff doesn't seem to be as good... I've owned Zeus and Brutus amps... I may be one of the few Hifonics fans... I've never had a problem with them and for the money... you can't really beat them... That said... I don't like the new ones... My friend has had a problem with the new Titan and the new BX... You might could try a voltage booster...

i'm fairly unimpressed with my bxi2006d

and at 30/35 volume with sub at 0 (-15 to +15) output clips at ~%50 gain with no bass boost.......

i just don't think they put out that much power........

i have 240A alternator, 0 gauge big 3, 0 gauge power/ground cables, interstate megatron mark II starting battery, BRAND NEW optima red top in the back, and a kinetik 800 6 inches from the amp.........

i just think they're significantly over rated

i have the hifonics titan txi6006 and that thing wangs for 600 watts....i don't kno whats wrong with your amp but i was very impressed with the titan. But i saw the same problem with my friends brand new 1606...my titan hit way harder then it, so i don't kno what would be up.
