Not getting loud!!!!

yea? aight sounds like the problem....even at 8 my headlights were dimming....but i have a ho alt....so i just got to get off my butt and put it in

r u dumb??

never turn ANY of ur settings to the highest. its not good to do. put ur level right in the middle, and readjust ur gain to where no distortion is present. use Late Nite Tip for this as it is about as low of a note your ever gunna hit with ur system.

follow the gain setting tutorial and u should be fine. alpine sub preouts are notorious for being sucky btw, a lotta people do turn the sub level up.

ok...thanks alot guys...i been tryin to post some pics but its been givin me problems...i hope to get them on soon

R U DUMB? Have you ever owned a alpine HU? To get full 4 volt for the SUBWOOFER pre out the setting on the sub control needs to be on 15. Call Alpine yourself and see what they tell you. I have owned over 10 alpine decks and the only way to get good volume on the sub is to have it +15. its not like its a bass boost. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

What you need to do is set the Subwoofer control to 15. Turn all the gains down on your amp. Turn the VOLUME of the deck to about 3/4 the way up, then slowly adjust the gains until you can hear distortion. Then turn the gain just a hair back down and you shoudl be good to go. DO this for the 4 channel amp or 2 channel amp you have.

just... ...shut up before someone here does what you just typed. Ghetto gains don't do anything.

Set the alpine to +15 on the h/u, play (disconnect subs) a 50 hz test tone 0db. Set gains according to amp specs and final impedance...2300(watts)*2 (final imp.)= 4600 would be about 67 volts. Then set gains till you reach 67 volts on the multimeter. Then turn the sub control DOWN!!! do not leave it at 15. While setting gains on subs disconnect or turn of mids and highs. Set you h/u flat except of course for the sub control...

you are a cocky person aren't ya?

You obviosuly know nothing about setting the gain on an amp.

Your probably one of those people that have there sub preout settings all the way up and the gain turned all the way up.

Actually you all need to chill and stop talking shit because green machine is correct. Why not read the entire "Gain setting tutorial" that you guys recommend to others so that you will avoid sticking your feet in your mouth. Pay particular attention to page 8.
