Conspiracy theorists act like their "truths" are so important, the ony thing it is important for is their own hobby and wasting their time and that of others.

If this is just a hobby to you I can dig that, we all need ways to entertain ourselves. If you think what you are doing is actually going to change anything, then I start to have some concerns.

I made this argument earlier considering most of America will die relatively happy not knowing all this "conspiracy" stuff? It would seem almost unethical to expose them to all this "knowledge" and then they have unhappy lives.

I agree. Just trying to get the motive behind the tenacity of the bullshit spreading of these conspiracy people.

If you know how your mind works, you know that "what immediately makes sense" is based on your current BELIEFS, which are based on previous evidence. So basically if you're unwilling to look at anything that contradicts what you've already been taught, you'd continue on the path of only knowing those truths that you were taught when were you young, as you would only accept truths that complied with those truths and dismiss anything that contradicted that. Does that make any sense?

How do you know it's incorrect? Because it's not from a governmental/"credible source" as you've been taught to do research at college?

See you make an assumption that I only use non-governmental sources as evidence, that's totally false. Almost ALL of the 911 being an inside job evidence comes from media/governmental sources. This is why there are so many conspiracy theorists now. Because most conspiracies don't have enough "credible sources" whereas the 911 being an inside job theory is almost 100% governmental sources. And because of this alot of people have woken up to the truth. But don't assume I only go to off the wall websites to find information.

How do you know it's the wrong direction though? Because it's non-governmental? See, I'm more inclined to believe a witness to a crime, rather than the reporter doing the story on the crime. But to the way you've been taught to do research, you're better off believing the government story that declares the facts to be true about it, rather than the witness who was there.

It definately decreases my quality of life. I waste time doing this, just like I waste time on forums, just like I waste time riding around listening to music when I'm upset.
It definately might improve the quality of life of others, if they learn the truth and can use that information to save their lives or increase their bank account. Now if they only freak out and become depressed about the information then I'd say it decreased their quality of life, but I don't think I'm the deciding factory on that either way. People deal with information in their own way.

Also, you act like learning new information is a waste of time. Maybe to you it is. To some people it isn't. Personal preference I guess.

I guess I'm just more of a realist, I work to change things within my grasp that will help my family, my friends, and I. I don't think learning new info is a waste of time, but I do think getting people riled up over false info is shameful and cruel.

Everyone spreads false information 90% of the time they open their mouths. We all do it. Sorry for just trying to put out a different perspective on the political issues. I personally like learning new things, not everyone does.
