Hi, I have recently acquired 4 kicker 12 inch subs model 10c124. They are 4 ohms. Their power handling is 50-150 w rms with a peak of 300. I also got a pioneer amp that I had originally planned on selling but may use to at least test the subs. It is a pioneer gm-d9605. This is a multichannel amp. I don't plan on having any speakers besides the subs wired to my amp. The amp outputs 75 w x 4 rms and 350 w rms x 1 at 4 ohms. I am a total rookie to this but that means my understanding is that at a maximum if I wired all of my 4 subs to this channel it would output 650 w rms. However I could see why it would output only 350w rms. I believe that I should have an amp that outputs right around 600-900 w rms with my subs at 4 ohms. I could see then why I would get a better bang for my buck with a different or mono amp. However, one of my buddies said that if I tried these subs with this amp because it is a 2000w amp I might blow my subs. Is this true? Can someone offer guidance on my thinking here?
