Needing input do i need a sound processer. Set up 3 amps one mono one 2ch for rear 6x9 2ch for front comps. I also have a nice deck kenwood kdc x997 13 band eq time alingment and other tuning functions. What is a good budget sound processer for around 300-500

Thats what i was thinking as well . But my last set that i had installed was weak . It was very highend equipment. Thinking they didnt tune it right cause it was a failure. If i do decide to get a processor whats a good one for around 300-500

Why was it a failure. Im telling you right now. You do not need a processor because there is alot you can do with that $500 that will improve your sound quality over what a processor can do since 90% of them you wont know how to use.

Otherwise. JBL MS8.

your head unit is a sound processor. It has time alignment, EQ bands, and a 24bit DAC and some kind of crossover control. If you really want a ton of tuning ability. Sell the kenwood and get a 80prs.

The system was never tuned right the rear 6x9 where awful not clear and loud . The subs where in a small sealed box two tens box was built to specs but small.fronts did not sound up two par for a pair of focal krx2 6.5. They had over double rms

I can recommend someone in your area to make your car sound good. Let me know if you're interested. If you've already had the car at a local shop please let me know where you went.

Definitely use the tuning ability of the deck first. Some light EQ and time alignment may prove to be enough. If you're not able to get it right and think your equipment can sound better, JBL MS-8 will auto tune it for you. At the top of your budget, you can even get a PS8, but I'd read up on it before buying as it's not something you just jump into.

i am thinking that a sound processer will be not needed. Going to diffrent place to install it this time . I am posative they didnt do anything to amps crossovers . My subs where in small sealed box built to specs but small . So they where not working up two par . 6x9 where mounted from bottom of rear deck with a 1/2" spacer . The factory hole was about 5x7 inch . The need two be mounted up top of the deck since there was only 5x7 hole . But like i said 1/2 spacer and mounted them from bottom of rear deck . I bought 170sqf of soundeading for a 2006 pontiac grand prix. They did the front doors inside and out rear deck top bottom and trunk . They gave me back 3 sheets about 2x3.5" i thought there should have been lots left over

Did you add some sound deadining reenforcement to your car? Stand alone DSP's are not for begginers or somewhat new to sound systems that don't have enough time knowing how it works. It's like a six grader taking a college exam with a slide ruler. Although there are a lot of room for it's potential, but you need a lot of hours trying to understand it. I'm still learning how I can improve my sound quality using an Audison Bit One for two and a half years, I'm retired although I've only scratched the surface. Research more about about a DSP not just asking ehich one everyone thinks could be had from $300-500.

Yes going back i can not install a system . The kenwood kdc x997 has enough equalization for me. I bought 170' of sounddeading for my front doors inside and out rear deck top bottom complete trunk for 2006 pontiac grand prix the installation guys gave me back 3 pieces about 2×3.5' back they should have lots extra i thought
