as others have stated the build quality on these tweeters is rather impressive considering they cost under $20

i hope they sound as good as they look.

i am still uncertain on what finish to use, i an thinking about painting then a light color and using a black grill. but not certain on what color.

will have pictures of the build if it happens tomorrow.

let me know what you think.

those dayton tweeters are bright as all hell. glad to see you have some attenuation goin on //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

SileStone for the win!!!!!!!

well actually it is my parents but thanks. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i got one of the speakers done and am getting a feel for it now.

one thing is when i am playing from my computer and i pause or stop, it rings for a second.

i only have 2 screws in the woofer so that might be why.

they are a little less efficient than my yamaha 3 way 8" speakers and dont handle more than 60-70 watts before the woofer gets sloppy.

i don't think you set them up right //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i've been feeding the 6.5" classic 100 watts for over a year now, clean all the way up to xmax.

where is bedford?

harwood and central intersection to be exact.

"i don't think you set them up right

well at the power i am giving them they are at or above xmax

seeing that it is only 4.5mm xmax and they are probably moving a good 1cm+ (p2p)

what kind of box do you have them?

they seem to just not take alot of power in this box to get going.

and about the ring i was talking about i am just a crazy person because the program (Rhapsody) just does it and has always done it, i just never really noticed it.

well i dont really feel like messing with the pics tonight so i will post them up tomorrow as soon as i get time.

the enclosures are still in a rough state since i didnt sand at all today but hopefully that will happen tomorrow.

well here are some pics, the indoor ones were taken in my room and the flash sucks so they look kind of dark.

all i can say is i love this jasper jig, with the spiral cut bit my dad has it cuts through this mdf like butter.

i only got one sanded today and i will try to get the other one done tomorrow

and maybe prime then this weekend.

as far as sound goes i am pretty impressed. the bass isnt the best by themselves but when my sub is on it just blends in with the towers and it sounds great.

my earlier statement about them getting sloppy isnt really true, i think thye were playing way too low for the design and were at or above xmax so they were distorting a bit.

after messing with some settings they are better now and sound great.

but unfortunately they are a little less efficient than my yamaha 3 ways so therefor dont get as loud but still get plenty loud for my tastes.

overall i would give these a 9/10

they could use a little more bass but that is what a subwoofer is for //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
