Ah, I didn't expect you to have an auto-ranging DMM. Most people who buy one just for CA buy the cheapest one they can find. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Okay, so did you h ave the red probe plugged to the right side and the black one in the middle of the DMM? The left red plug is only for DC voltage.

edit: that failed

where exactly should i be putting the sensors from the dmm on the sub?
You can either put them straight on the terminals (+ and - of the terminal, I'm not sure if mach 5 has push-in terminals or screw in, but just wherever you would normally hook the wires to on the sub), or you can put the at the end of the wires you have connected. + and - don't matter when measuring resistance, it'll just differ between whether it gives you a + or - reading on the DMM.

if i put the red lead onto the red screw terminal and put the black one on the wire coming out of that terminal that connects to the cone it gives me a bunch of changing numbers. i have tried to put the red and black leads in every combination and that is the only time a get any reading at all.

Okay, so there is something bad between the tinsel lead and the terminal. Can you see any visible burns or melted parts ont he lead wire or the screw terminal?

Sorry for the delayed response, I was heating up some food. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
