No sound from speakers

One day I got in my car, my head unit turned on like normal but got no sound. My car is a Monte Carlo and has a factory amp. I think either this or the head unit is the problem. I have a sub amp hooked up also and have tried it with and without it and it doesn't affect it. Right when I turn my car on I get nothing but after driving for a few minutes I hear a little bit starting to fade in then it goes from speaker to speaker turning on slowly until I get full sound back. I'm thinking it has to be something with the factory amp going bad... If anyone has an idea of what may be happening please let me know!

I would pull each speaker and test as well . Check with a DMM and a different HU or? as stated. A 12v battery and an Old HU usually works just fine
