No sense at all

I hooked up the original vehicle sterio harness. I bought the harness for the sterio to go to the vehicle harness. I made sure they were all connected correct. I turn the car on and all I get is music coming out of one front speaker and it seems like the head unit gets hot real fast. I checked to make sure all connections were good. And made sure I had a good ground. Still just music coming out of the front left speaker. I am thinking about just cutting out the harnesses and wiring them up. WTF.

are you installing the original head unit or an aftermarket one?

it's a aftermarket one. I think in the morning I am going to take the whole wire harness out like it said above and just do it myself.

good luck noob, you will find it so much harder, and i bet you spend 5 times as long on it without the wiring harness, then with it. unless you know where to get your info.

well, your right. I spent three hours on it. The power, ground and speakers were the easy wires to figure out. Then after that everything else was a guess. I gave it a good fight to do it myself. So sometine this week it will be taken to the local japanese audio store. i am glad they know what they are doing because they don't speak any english. They will just look at my dash and shake their heads. Thank you for your help. Next week will be the sub install. I will try it myself and see how far i get before i screw it up.
