3 jl 1000/1

The Master/slave function on the 1000/1 operates nothing like strapping. It only allow you to match gains. The manual clearly states on page 2 "Do not attempt to 'bridge' the outputs of this amplifier with the outputs of a second amplifier, even an identical one." The Master/slave on the 1000/1 allows the gain control and crossover on the master amp to control the gain and crossover on the slave amps, nothing more. You can't strap JL amps. Learn to read.

to all who don't believe. yes you can slave 3 jl 1000/1's together. just look in the owners manual. duhh
We told you previously when you posted about having these three amps and a pair of W7s that you cannot strap JL Audio's slash-series amps. You might can slave them one to the next but this isn't at all the same thing.

does slave=strap
No sir, it doesn't.

slave & strap same thing
No sir, they aren't. Not even close.

go to jl's website, look for the 1000/1 owners manual and it's right in there.
We have. You're wrong.

pwnd.

Strapping is a very, very different function and one that I'm thinking you do not fully comprehend.

Slaving one amplifier to another like unit is simply connecting them in such a manner that they will be gain-matched so that the amplified outputs of each unit will mimic one another for overall system cohesiveness.

Strapping is connecting two amplifiers together to power the same sub(s) at the same time. (Ergo~ powering one really power-hungry subwoofer with two powerhouse amps at the same time)

Each function is decidedly not the same as the other and, at the end of the day, what we've already told you stands true. It was the case when you first posted about having a trio of 1kW/1 amps and a pair of W7 subs, it is true right now, and it will still be the way things are tomorrow and the day after that.

We weren't trying to be assinine to you previously when you came here asking questions. Now that you're on here trying to sound superior and prove us wrong about things we aren't mistaken about, however, that might change...

The JD does ~800 watts@ 3 Ohms so I assume there would be no noticeable difference.
